Muslim Muslim Muslim

Muslim Cabbie Charged With Running Over Students After Religious Dispute

This is actually not that interesting of a story. Someone tried to kill his fellow man over religion. It happens. I have a problem with that headline though. The fact that he is Muslim does not really belong in the headline. It’s really not one of the main points of the story. It’s a detail, and don’t get me wrong, it would be poor journalism to not include it in the story at all, but the headline? No, like I said, minor detail.

I wouldn’t say anything about it if I felt that it would have been treated the same way if a Christian had done the same thing. When Andrea Yates drowned her five children the headline was not, “Christian Woman Kills Children,” although her religion definitely played a part in the act. No, it was simply “Crazy Woman Kills Children.”

“Crazy Cabbie Charged With Running Over Students After Religious Dispute.” I like it. It’s got a certain ring to it. “Crazy Cabbie…” Wonderful use of alliteration I must say.

    Get over it.

He tried to kill them BECAUSE of his religion. They wern’t arguing about sports teams, or cars. The “religion of peace” is shown for what it truely is.

  2. Steve J. Says:

Well abc, that is not true. He tried to kill them because they were arguing about religion, I’ll gve you that. But you can’t say that he was more prone to do this because he was Muslim.

Religion is rarely the sole cause for action when it comes to things like this. The guy had a bad temper and snapped. It happens.

  3. abc Says:

    Oh yeah?

Show me an equivelent story where a christians snaps over a religios debate and kills the debaters.

Don’t forget that Islam is a religion that kills anyone who tries to make jokes about it, or argue against it.

Just look at the cartoon farse last year, the dutch filmmaker killed by a Muslim, and the amount of people in hiding beacuse the voiced their disageements of Islam.

There are many examples I can pull to prove my point.

I think every religion has radicals. We should altogether try to manage this process. Look e.g. at http://www.pray-in-time.org, they are trying to put people together to speak about the common problems
